The CCHRA and representatives from provincial HR associations have participated in a taskforce to review the need for a senior designation, and possible parameters leading to granting such a designation.
 
The Senior Human Resources Professional (SHRP) designation is awarded by participating HR associations to experienced high-impact HR leaders who demonstrate the qualities of trusted advisor, strategic orientation, breadth of knowledge (not just in HR but management generally), the ability to build business-aligning HR strategy and who have a significant impact and influence on their organization.
 
Provincial associations in Ontario and Saskatchewan have opted to move forward with the implementation of the SHRP.
 
HRANS’ Board of Directors is considering the opportunity the senior designation being implemented in Ontario and Saskatchewan presents and is planning to consult with our members over the next few months to determine the approach for our association.
