Guest Speaker: Dr. Brad McRae, CSP, The Atlantic Leadership Development Institute
Please join us as we will also be recognizing our recent CHRP holders and CHRP Candidates from the October 2009 exam sitting.
Many excellent books have been written about leadership. In fact, a search of Chapters.ca under the subject “leadership” lists 500 books and a search of Amazon.ca lists 7988 books on leadership. So why do we need yet another book on leadership? The Seven Strategies of Master Leaders is specifically designed to address the critically important area that all of these other works have missed; that is the strategies and skills necessary to be a Master Leader, and how to develop these strategies and skills to the highest level possible. The other feature that makes this book unique is that these strategies and skills are illustrated with in-depth interviews of Master Canadian Leaders.
The thirty Master Leaders Dr. Brad McRae, CSP, interviewed freely shared the wisdom that they had painstakingly gathered. Their insights will significantly broaden and deepen your understanding of The Seven Strategies of Master Leaders. By attending this session, you will learn how Master Leaders from every walk of Canadian life have been able to transform their own lives and the lives of their organizations and communities. We will also specifically examine those developmental opportunities that helped each of the 30 leaders, interviewed in the book, learn how to lead.
Learning Objectives:
In this session you will learn key insights from a cross section of 30 of Canada's top contemporary leaders from the private, public, volunteer and not-for-profit sectors. More specifically you will see how they learned to:
- Inspire with vision and fuel themselves and others with passion to achieve results beyond what they ever imagined was possible
- Step up to the plate, confront and overcome obstacles that would have stopped less masterful leaders
- Make higher-order decisions using the 70% rule
- Harness the power of tipping-point goals and the positive domino effect
- Grow and enhance their skills and strategies from competence to mastery
Lastly, we will look at how you can apply these skills and strategies to your own leadership challenges and opportunities.
